Potty Training

F this potty training!

Ya know I just feel so hopeless with this!!! I do not wanna return to pullups though ::::sigh:::: Olivia has 1 accident a day ok fine but today she just peed on herself everytime! She'll do great one day then the next day ugh! It's so unpredictable. She wakes up dry from night and pees 1st thing so I know she knows! Anyone ever give up? I just feel like crying right now

Re: F this potty training!

  • Its tough!  DS has been without diapers for a couple of weeks now and the same thing... some days he does great and others he has several accidents a day!  I have heard that going back to rewards helps (we use chocolate chips at my house :-)

My bigger issue is that DS has to pee so often!  Some days he goes two hours without peeing, and others he has to "go" like every 15 minutes (which makes it hard to travel anywhere... even to the grocery store)!

Keep us posted on your progress and GL!

  • My friend tried several times to PT her daughter starting when her DD was about 2.  She gave up when she just couldn't deal with the accidents anymore each time (her daughter would be sitting on her lap and just pee on her) even though her DD knew how to use the potty.  Her DD potty trained at about 2.5 years in the end and the time her DD finally trained she did great almost no accidents.

There is no shame in going back to diapers for a few weeks and then trying again.  Just make sure you keep talking about going potty and put your DD on the potty every day or so.

Thanks for your advice ;) I She wouldn't keep a diaper or a pull up on. She asks for her underwear. I'm hoping that when she starts the 2's class in Sept. that they help her

  • Might be a silly question... but are you doing any type of reward or chart system? This has really helped DD. We made a chart but there are some online you can print out. DD loves putting stickers on everytime she is successful. Every three spots there is a star for a prize (dollar store items/bin at Target too!) she will even say.. I earned this...... because I went potty. We are only on week 2 of training but she is very successful. I am going to stop prizes here soon maybe another week or so, since she is getting it. It might help her see her progress too. Hang in there!!!

  • you've been doing so well I wouldn't give up.  Although by day 3 I gave up.  DS just doesn't get tell mommy if you feel like you have to poop, that pee or poop go into a potty.
  • Thanks Army, she gets stickers and an m&m. Sorry Miniko, I hope that the next time you try he'll pick it up fast
