gross sounding I know, but DS doesnt really eat a lot of meat so I wanted to introduce him to some, so I bought these meat stick things in jars....anyone ever use them? Do you heat them up? I'm scared to try!!
I personally don't have the heart to give those to DS. I agree, Gross. My mom is all about them. I give him diced ham, chicken nuggets, hotdogs, etc...
I LOVED them as a kid. My mom used to make them for me until I was in grade school. I grew up and have Been a vegetarian for over a decade. Make of that what you will.
All 3 of our younger kids ate them once in a while. They didn't love them, but they'd tolerate them! I'd give them to them right out of the jar. FWIW, there's NO way there's anything more gross in them than what hot dogs are made of, lol!

When LO didn't like meat (she does eat chicken now), I gave her those a couple of times. Totally grossed me out. She didn't love them but didn't hate them either. I agree with pp, they are not any worse than hot dogs and in fact, they are probably safer since they don't contain nitrates.
Would I eat em? No way. Are they pretty to look at. Absolutely not. But, if that is one of the ways to get protein into my kid then yes, I will give them to him. He doesnt hate them so far. I serve them right out of the jar and try to use it all in one day or so before the liquid in it gels (yuck)

OMG those things look so gross I can't even buy them!! LOL!
DS is not a big meat eater either, but he does like meatballs and morningstar "fake" chicken nuggets, both with ketchup!

DD likes the chicken ones. I think you can heat them up..but I don't. DD doesn't eat much meat either besides those and lunch meat.
