Babies: 3 - 6 Months

My boys are eating less...what does that mean?

For the past 2 months they have been eating about 5-6 oz.  about every 3 hours.  Well the past week and 1/2 they started eating less like 4 oz. or less every 3 hours.  I thought maybe that they just weren't hungry enough to eat every 3 hours anymore so I pushed 2 of the 5 feedings to 4 hours.  Nope they aren't eating anymore, in fact the one is now only taking 3 oz.  Anyone else experience this?  Was it just a phase?  I am sure I should call my pedi to find out her opinion but I just thought I would ask around.

  • We're going through that now too.  I'm taking DS for his four month appt today so will be asking pedi about it.  Someone told me it could be a sign of teething.  Others have said that they just get more distracted at this age as they're more aware of their surroundings.

  • We're going through the same thing. Covering him or taking him into another room works sometimes; other times it just doesn't matter what we do, he's too aware of everything around him and doesn't eat as much.
