what furniture did you decide on for your nursery?

I have started to research nursery furniture and am becoming overwhelmed very quickly!  At this time (unless my house sells by November) the nursery is only a 10ft x 10ft room with a fairly small closet.  We are planning on buying 2 cribs and a dresser.   I can't figure out if an armoire or a chest is a better idea.

What did you purchase for your twins nursery?

Any suggestions besides babies r us to look for furniture?  I fell in love with a crib on Target's website but it only comes in cinnamon, so I can't find anything to match it!!

  • if space is an issue- Ikea cribs are great b/c they don't have lots of extra orante wood... we have the Leksvik cribs and love them (also have an armoir dresser and toy chest in that style, too).

  • We also have a smaller room and are going to use Ikea furniture.  We are getting two cribs, a tall dresser and then hopefully a longer dresser which can double as a changing table (if not we are just going to use the changing table from DDs room).  Luckily we are having two girls so they will just share clothes.
  • After doing some research, we went with the Graco Lauren Traditional cribs in Espresso. They are not bulky and have the classic crib look I wanted for their (small) nursery. I didn't like the matching changing table and went with an Amy Coe Dresser/Changer combo (I really like that it's high and has a decent amount of storage). All pieces were bought at BRU--check for sales and/or Clearance in their furniture section!

This!  I love the furniture.  The way I see it is that no matter what furniture I bought, it wasn't going to last until they were teenagers.  The IKEA furniture we bought my last 5-6 years, but we didn't invest thousands buying it, so I am not going to be upset when the time comes to buy more.

We got these same cribs and the matching changing table.  Im going to use an Ikea hemnes tall dresser in the black brown.  I dont have it yet but I think it will match the expresso pretty well.

I'm another IKEA fan!  We have the Gulliver cribs and love them!  We also got a long dresser that we put a changing pad on top of (didn't really use it, but that's not the furniture's fault :-)  Our room is slightly bigger than 10x10, but not by much and I think it helps that we have white furniture because it makes the room look bigger.

  • I'm going with Delta Liberty Mini Cribs.  It was the only way to get all 3 cribs in the same room and they convert into twin beds instead of full size.

  • I've looked at the Graco Lauren and definitely like that!   Is there enough space underneath the Graco Lauren crib to fit a plastic storage container?  If we don't sell our house, we are going to have some serious space issues for storage, so I make room anywhere I can!  I also like the dresser idea and put the changing pad on that.   Now, do I go with a 5 drawer chest or an armoire?

  • Our nursery is a pretty big room so we bought 2 of these cribs and this dresser. We bought the matching galley rail for the dresser top so we can use it as our changing table. After some debate we decided to spend the money on the convertible packages for both cribs so they convert to both toddler beds and doubles. We went with all Ikea crib bedding though! Love it!

  • We bought Young America Built to Grow cribs for my DS. They go from a crib to a full size bed so in the long run you don't have to buy a bed.  We also got the dresser and hutch to match. I also got the same kind for the boys.
