Have you listened to that song by Eminem and Rihanna "Love the Way You Lie"?  Perhaps you should...it's pretty impactful.

Actually-YouTube it.  Watch the video.

  • Actually I just listened to it last night. It made me cry... very good song and video.

  • I agree.  It hit home for me even though SD never hit me.  He was verbally/emotionally abusive and definitely broke a lot of things and punched holes in doors/walls.

What struck a chord with me was the whole cycle of abuse...the ups and downs.  When it's good it's fantastic, when it's bad, it's horrible.

So very unhealthy.  That's the hardest thing to get off of is the emotional roller coaster.  But believe me, once you get off of it you will be so relieved.  That's not the way a healthy relationship is supposed to be.

  • Yeah, it would always get really bad and then he'd go through his "honeymoon phase" and shower me with gifts and nice talk. Then he'd turn for the worse again. That song is such an accurate depiction.

I love that song. It's so powerful.

Myself, I like to listen to music to express my emotions. And when I had come home from PR I used to wish there was a song like my situation that I could just relate to.

All over songs I would listen to was just about breaking up or cheating, and although I could relate to that stuff too, I needed something more. And now they have thing song and I love it.

  • You should listen to "Intruder Alert"-Lupe Fiasco. It's not exactly the same situation but I really like it too.
