Benefiber - questions for toddlers

My DS tells me his hiney hurts when he poops and sometimes it is hard, so I want to try something.  He eats well and eats a ton of fruit and veggies but it isn't enough.  His pedi told me I could try a fiber like Benefiber to help but I was curious if any of you have tried any others or have any recs or have any other ideas.  I've tried the fiber gummies but he doesn't like the texture - if they were a chewable he would like them.  Thanks!

Re: Benefiber - questions for toddlers

  • did your doctor suggest miralax as an option? DS gets this daily--it's a flavorless powder that dissolves in any beverage (we put DS's in a bit of prune juice cut with water, so he gets extra fiber too).

dried fruit is another great source of fiber.

  • She said any of them were fine, the only one she specified was Benefiber, but she didn't say don't give X or anything.  I want something I can put in with his juice or milk or something that isn't gritty and doesn't change the taste.  I will check out Miralax thanks!
