What's the verdict on newborn-sized onesies? I got a pack of them at my shower yesterday, and opened them up. They are TINY! The package says that they are for babies from 5-8 lbs. So do these even fit "average" newborn babies? Not sure if they are worth keeping or if I should return for the 0-3 month size.
Re: Newborn Onesies - Too small?
For most babies they definitely run small. The newborn size was too small for my 7 lb daughter- I ended up getting all new 0-3 to replace them. The Carter's do run big though- newborn was too big for her at first. I'd get some 0-3- if you end up with a tiny baby you can always send someone to pick up the newborn size.
Edit: I should have said that the Gerber run small.
I looked at the Gerber newborn onesies and laughed. There was no way my DD would fit in them!
DD was 9 lbs 11 oz and 20.5 inches at birth, and she's a super solid baby. She's never fit in newborn onesies. I think it's probably too late to even try the extenders now.
I find the Carters brand is good, though, and fits well. And Circo runs a bit big.
