TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Survived the babyshower

It was not easy especially since two babies at the shower were born the same week of my baby's EDD.  What hurt the most was seeing the baby that was born at the same hospital at the same time I had my D&C.  I remember leaving the hospital and unable to visit the new mom and her baby.

Overall I kept it together, played one game and socialized with everyone.  I even found myself happy for the 5 very pg women that were there and sharing their pg experiences including ultrasound pics galore.

After I left I was overwhelmed with sadness, but work has kept my mind busy.

Can't wait for the next baby shower....its for a "family friend" that never speaks to me, we never hang out, but I expected to attend.  Yeah me!!!

Thanks for letting me share my day.  Hope you are enjoying the weekend.

Re: Survived the babyshower

  • Big hugs! You are a good friend! I can't say the same for myself. I didn't got to my SIL or BFF's showers and we all were two weeks apart.

  • You're a stronger person than me, that's for sure.

I feel so so so so so blessed that I haven't been invited to any baby showers since my loss.

  • Glad to hear that you made it through.  It gives me hope because I'm heading to a shower tomorrow.  For a surprise baby.  And the mom is a single 25 year old who lives at home.  And I know I have no right to judge.  But seriously? FML.

  • {hugs} I don't see why you have to go to a shower for someone you never speak to. That seems odd to me, especially if it will be painful for you. I say get the flu.

Good idea!  I am waiting to hear what the date it and then may sure I am working.  I have every intention of not attending, but I will send a gift in my absence since honestly I think its the only reason I am invited.
