Baby Shower

Being as we're due in January (myself at the tail end) when are you all thinking about having your shower?? It's probably going to be difficult being Thanksgiving and Christmas are close together, so I was just curious as to what you all thought.

I'm thinking the very end of November, possibly first or second week in December??

I don't want to have it too early, but also don't want to have it too close to due date. I also don't want it to be a surprise!!

One of my best friend's is so sweet and is throwing me a shower even though it's my third baby. I feel so loved

. We are going to have the shower in the earlier half of November.

My mom has already planned my shower for November 14. She had to do it early so because all the restaurants around us were already booked for holiday parties later in November and December.

My best friend is throwing me a shower in my hometown on Oct 23, and my family is throwing me a shower on Nov 6. Both of them thought it would be better to get them out of the way before Thanksgiving/holidays.

My mom is throwing my shower in October for our family. DH's SIL is throwing a shower in the beginning of Nov for his family and my friend is throwing another shower at the end of Nov for our friends.

I say sometime around November is a good time to throw a shower before the holidays.

We haven't set an actual date yet because we haven't figured out all the details, but its going to be in October. Wanted to get it done before the holiday craziness set in.

My mom is throwing me a shower in mid-Oct., and my MIL and SIL's are throwing me one in early Nov. My friends from work also want to throw me a shower, and that one will be in early Dec. I feel blessed!

My sister will only be in town for Thanksgiving this year, so she is throwing my shower (with my MIL) the Saturday right after Turkey Day. Most of my family, hubby's family, and friends should be around then, but I understand if some people cannot make it due to the holiday. It was extremely important to my sister (and me) that she be here to throw it.

My sister and mom have also set it for October 24th. I preferred to do it earlier due to the holidays.

I'm having 4 showers (!!) One from my work, one from my husbands work, one just for family and one for couples/friends. Two will be in October & two will be in November. I rather have them early that late - December is really not the time I want to be having a baby shower.

I'm due Jan. 17, and the shower will likely be Nov. 6 or 13. It's a bit early, yes, but my aunt (who's hosting) doesn't want to interfere with holiday plans, etc, and I don't want to wait until after Christmas in case LO decides to come early.

I am not getting one. As this is my DH second baby ( I have a DD from prev Marriage and a DS for current).

I did register though so I could get the 10% off.

I was really hoping for one though because if it is a girl then I have nothing from birth to 1 year to use ( other then boy stuff). I gave it all away when I left my ex. OK vent over.

Mine is October 23rd--my mom wanted to do it before the craziness of the holidays got started. Glad to see so many others are having theirs in October--I was worried it was too early.

I made it clear that I didn't want one after Thanksgiving because it's my birthday, then finals, my SIL graduation, my dad's birthday, Christmas, New Year's... I feel like every Saturday after Thanksgiving is booked, and I don't want to take from anyone's spotlight.

Originally, mine was going to be in October but my grandmother is going to visit her family (overseas) next week and won't be home until November, so it will be Nov. 20th.

I think with the holidays and everything, earlier is just easier for everyone.

I am due the beginning of January- but with pre-eclampsia, may come sooner. With shower plans, earlier is always better. My shower's are scheduled in October- which I wanted either way because I want to have some energy to be able to get the nursery in order before my sweet little girl gets here!

My Mom and SIL are doing mine here I think the first weekend of November and then my Mom and aunt are doing another one in Arizona the saturday after thanksgiving (my dh's bday) since all my family will be able to go to that one.

Mine is looking like it'll be Dec. 11th. I'm due at the end of January so it'll be about 6 weeks before. With Thanksgiving and a friends wedding in November it looks to be about as early as possible.

I'm apparently having one big joint shower, according to my mom. It'll be held in early November. Anytime after the holiday season starts is just too hectic for my & DH's families, and since I'm due Jan 10th anything after Christmas just seems too late.

My work friends are throwing me a shower and I think it will be in late October, but I'm not sure.

Both of my showers are going to be the first 2 weeks of November. We kind of had to schedule them around football games. (Welcome to the South)

Well since we only go to Minnesota once a year and I was afraid to make that loooong haul too late in the pregnancy we are going NEXT MONTH... its crazy my first shower will be September 25 and I keep thinking WOW that is so far before the due date! My mom is also throwing me one in Houston on Nov. 6. I am so excited!

my family shower will be in october when we go to MA and then im not sure when my shower here will be.. a few of my friends are moving before the baby is born so hopefully before they all move

One of my girlfriends is insisting on throwing me a shower, even though I REALLY don't want one. At first she set it for Oct. 3 - I'm not even due until Jan. 21. I told her I thought that was too early. So, she rescheduled for Dec. 11.
