Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Does anyone know toddler dose for

children's Maalox or Mylanta? I've been googling and not finding it. This is for a 19-month-old who weighs 24 lbs.

Or if you know of anything else to give a 1-year-old for upset stomach, please let me know! Poor Will just seems so miserable. :( (He has diarrhea and fever but the way he's acting today, it seems like his stomach is just bothering him a lot, too. Fortunately he hasn't been vomiting.)

Re: Does anyone know toddler dose for

  • We gave DS 1 tsp for his reflux when he was way smaller than that.  I'm not sure what the right dosage would be now, but I'd think you could at least start with that much . . .

  • I'd call the pediatrician for the dosage, personally.

There are Tums for kids--I think the dosage is on there for the weight your child is at.  DD1 has had them a few times when she has complained of her tummy hurting.

  • I can call the pedi but they take a while to get back to you on the weekends if it's not an emergency and I was hoping to get Will some relief before naptime. I did end up calling the pharmacy and the pharmacist said there was nothing OTC for a LO this small. :( Oh well. Hopefully he'll feel better soon!

this one has a dose that is age 2 / starts at 24 lbs

  • I would give him some Mylicon. It was safe for babies and the same ingredients are in many stomach soothers.
