Hi, I am usually a lurker and I have been suffering with anxiety for the past 7 months. I have recently started taking a natural health supplement called 5-htp to help with the symptoms. I had never heard of this before until a friend mentioned it to me,and I decided to try it out. 5-htp contains something that naturally increases serotonin production in the brain and has been proven to help with anxiety,depression and insomnia. I was sceptical at first but I have now been taking it for a week and I already feel better. I take 50mg before bed and it has helped me have a full nights sleep for the first time in months. My mood is elevated and my anxiety levels are at an all time low. Due to my anxiety, I couldn't take regular meds because I was so fearful of the side effects. 5 htp has genuinely helped me feel so much better. You can find lots of information about it online and I buy it from the health food store. I hope this might help someone else who may be in a similar situation.
