Just decide if you trust the airline with a nice stroller like that.... We bought a cheap-o stroller for travelling so if they wreck it I'm not too sad.
But yeah, it's super easy to gate check a stroller.
If you are worried about how they handle the stroller, you can always pick up a cheapie stroller gate check bag. We ordered ours from One Step Ahead, but Alaska Airlines (and I'm sure others) actually have these really big heavy duty plastic bags for oversized luggage that they can give you to put it in. Ask for it at the check-in/ticket counter (where you would check a bag).
Beware of checking your stroller at the gate IF you have a short layover. I did this with DD, and our plane was late. Originally we had only a 45 minute layover, but our flight was late so we got there only about 15 minutes before our next flight. Waiting for them to unload the stroller at the next gate, took a while and we missed our next flight! If ever do this again, I will do it with a cheapo stroller so that if something like this happens I dont care if I just leave it if need be!

ugh! That's terrible! Thankfully our flight is a straight shot.
Re: flying with your stroller
They won't charge you. They give you a tag, and when you board, you leave it on the jetway and it's there when you get off the plane. Love it.
ah! That is amazing! We are going on a four day trip and taking half the house!
Thanks for the quick replies...
