...well, I succeeded in threading the machine, so that was a thrill. I tried to use a placemat pattern thinking it would be the simplest. Not so. The directions used words like "gimp" and "baste." WTH?
Anyhoo, I tried my best and made an ugly placemat out of fleece and felt so that my cats would have something snuggly to sleep on all day long. My cats are grateful, but I'd like to try something else. Can anyone recommend a brand of patterns that has well written directions? Or, better yet, a website with easy, printable patterns? I am googling, but thought I'd ask anyway.
Re: I failed at my first sewing project. :-(
What a stinker
I don't know what those terms mean either!
I'm working on cloth pad liners. They're NOT easy!

hmmm... lol. i'm a big fan of "tell it like it is" in patterns and instructions - no need for strange and obscure terms!

What type of pattern was it? I have no suggestions on websites, or easy to read patterns either. I've been sewing since I was little, so it's hard for me to pick out an easy pattern (if that makes sense). There are a few that I super confusing (and I can't think of the company off the top of my head). I am sure there is a great website out there that has the terminology...baste I know, the other one I've never heard of
GL!, and if I think of anything (the brain is mush today) I'll let you know!
