Wearing a bikini and being prego?

Hi all.  I am about 15 weeks pregnant now and going on vacation in a couple of weeks and will need to wear a swimsuit like the WHOLE time.  We got to a lake house and are on the water constantly.  What do you all think about wearing a bikini when pregnant?  I can't decide if it seems kind of wrong or if it is fine, I don't like any of the maternity tankini suits I have seen.

Re: Wearing a bikini and being prego?

  • I think you should wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.

  • I know some people think it's totally wrong, but I think it would be super cute. Imagine not having to worry about sucking it in wearing your bikini! I have a coworker 15 years older than me once tell me she couldn't believe another girl wore a bikini being pregnant. Do what you want!

  • I wear my bikini... we live right on the water my neighbors were asking me 3 weeks ago if I was pregnant.
  • I think if you can pull off a bikini when you're not pregnant then you'll look even cuter with a bump!  I say go for it, i think it looks cute!
  • If you can pull it off, go for it!

  • I'm going on vacation tomorrow and I've packed 3 bikinis and 1 regular swim suit.  I plan on being in a bikini most of the time we're gone.

  • I would wear it
  • IMO - I think you are going to do what you will. I do not see anything wrong with your wearing it as long as it is comfortable and things just feel good. After all a vacation is for you to relax and enjoy your self. Only you can decide what is right for you. I do not believe you will see many or any one you really know unless it is family ? I do not think they will care either way. So just do it.

  • I TOTALLY sported regular bikinis even when i was 8 months preggo! I loved my bump, first time in my LIFE I felt incredibly beautiful and self confident- OF COURSE I wanted to show it off! ;) I say, if youre comfortable with showing off the bump, GO FOR IT! Theres nothing wrong with it at all. :)

"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind." - Kurt Vonnegut
  • If it were me I would wear one.... those are the only bathing suits I have.  But if I felt uncomfortable I would just go out and buy a tankini or two. Do whatever you feel comfortable with.

  • I think if you can rock a bikini pre pregnancy then you can rock it while pregnant.

  • Wear what is comfortable and makes you feel good.  A friend's wife wore hers at like 30+ weeks and was adorable.

ETA: I plan on wearing one when I got out on the lake at the end of the month, although I'll only be about eight weeks or so.

When it's all said and done, what matters most is your relationships with other people; without good friends and family, what's the point?

  • I know everyone says being in your second or third trimester during the summer is torture but I always wanted to rock a bikini with the baby belly I think its so cute!

Since it took us a year and a half to get this one I don't quite have the option to plan my pregnancies so I'd say go for it
