Beyond sick of getting HB

Mine is so out of control I can barely stand it. I am already advised by my Dr. to take (2) Zantac 150's per day, plus a few Tums here and there.

Anyone having really bad heartburn?

    Prilosec!!!!!  It has done wonders for me for the past 3 days!  :D  I thought I was going to die until Saturday!

    Yes, Horrible. I try to limit what I take, but I have Tums at my bedside literrally. Thankfully, after 2 tums, I am somewhat better. There have been some worse days then other, however.

    Yes and I take exactly that same regimen of drugs for it.

    i get it a lot but its not horrible. i haven't taken anything- wasn't sure what I could take and am going to doctor tomorrow.

     I keep just thinking 5 1/2 weeks.

    Looks like I'm going to be taking Prilosec...Zantac 150 does NOTHING for me!

    It is so bad (my heartburn) that I would honestly classify it as disabling.  It even hurts to breathe at night.  Ugh.

    junefifth - I know, at night I swear I am going to choke on acid

    lucy - how many days did you have to take the Prilosec before it kicked in? It's not an automatic fix like Zantac is "supposed" to be right?

    I started taking it on Saturday morning after my appointment, and I had very little trouble that day, and even less yesterday.  There is some slight, slight burning, but nowhere NEAR the point it was at before.  I felt like a dragon breathing fire it hurt so bad.

    yup - i am taking the same thing and it is so bad that i am near tears sometimes. partially b/c it is so bad and partially b/c im so frustrated!

    I think it's the most horrible thing about pregnancy so far! I would call mine disabling as well, and it's not just at night, I've been getting it all day. I've been on the zantac twice a day regimen and drinking apple cider vinegar (so gross, but it does help) to try to dull it, but nothing really makes it go away. I wish the constant bad taste in my mouth that makes me gag would leave!?

    I'm going to ask my dr about prilosec this week. I can't imagine going another 11 weeks like this!?

    uck yes - I only ever get HB while PG and I'm SOOO glad i'm almost done. I take tums but it does nothing.

    The heartburn is tolerable for me but the acid reflux is out of control.  And it came on so suddenly and now its an all day occurrence.
