Is it bad...

...that Adrian watches some TV every day? I know you're not supposed to expose them to TV before they're 2 but come on... I need a break sometimes! Plus, I need to do computer work and he won't stay still unless he's watching something. He loves the Baby Einstein DVDs but I try to only let him watch one a day (1/2 hr). And he watches some regular TV when DH comes home, although I try to limit that too.

I feel guilty but now he's hooked on those DVDs so I'm screwed, lol. Really, when it's 100 degrees outside, there aren't many choices.

Me: 44 DH: 42. DS born healthy at 40 weeks 8/24/09. TTC since then with no luck or ART. Surprise BFP 8/6/14... MMC @ 8 weeks 4 days... Miss you everyday sweet baby angel.

Margaux watches one of these almost every day:

She loves them.  I use it as a transition to her afternoon nap.  Sometimes she watches Kaamelott with us at night after dinner as well:

I understand we're supposed to limit babies' exposure to tv, but since we're such a low-tv household anyway, I figure it's better to acclimate her to our routine.  We do our best, but we are also not trying to be something we're not, either, if that makes sense.  :)

Also...  Look at his little feet in the swing!  Love the picture!

We have a strict no-tv policy but it is easy for us - DH and I both work and it is the nanny who has to deal.

Please...h watches one every morning. Baby eienstein that is. If he didn't mommy would never get dressed. Sometimes he watches two but only if he wants quiet time. Please don't be yourself up. You have to do what is right for you.

I think Ada watches Elmo with the nanny 3 mornings a week. When she leaves on Wed night the TV doesn't come back on until she's back in the house on Monday. We just never watch TV...

I think there would be no TV if LO was in daycare but I like to watch Baby Story at noon and DH is a TV addict. Plus LO likes Baby Einstein, Agent Oso and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. But he doesn't watch all those in one day.

I was strict when Noah was little but now that Noah is almost 3, he wants to watch some tv during the day and Finn is there. Am I supposed to put Finn in another room? He likes tv and is aware when it's not on, but most of the time he prefers playing with his toys. I'm not too worried about it.

Does she seem to be picking this up? We have started using a few signs with L just to get him used to seeing them, but I've been thinking about looking into videos or books too...

Sort of.  She's just at the lower end of the age limit on the dvd.  Right now she gets excited when she sees the parts she likes.  She grabs her shoes and bangs them together when they do "shoes," and yells "AAA!" at the cats part.
