If so, what were your symptoms? I had a cerclage done last Friday and they mentioned I could get a bladder infection because I had a catheter. Yesterday, I started having bad cramps and lower back pain and I'm trying to figure out why. I see the peri this afternoon but I'm getting a little worried about all this cramping and I'm hoping it's as simple as a bladder infection. Thanks!

Re: Has anyone had a bladder infection during pregnancy?
I had a terrible one after I delivered ds from having a catherter so much.
I had the chills, fever, terrible back pain. I felt like I constantly had to pee but couldn't. I would just cry. It burned if any did come out. It was almost worse than labor.
I'd call the doctor for a check of everything. so sorry!!
I got them constantly with my first pregnancy! You're more prone to them in the summer because of the heat and it makes things down there get really damp- which is why it's best to wear cotton knickers so air can flow more easier.
I always smelled it first- your urine will smell REALLY acridy and extremely strong and will HURT as it comes out. It will sting. If you feel this and you're having pains in your lower back and or cramping, it could be a sign that the infection has moved from your bladder to your kidneys and you'll need some antibiotics to get better. You'll only be on the anti-b's for a week.
But no sex on the anti-b's!
That doesn't really matter. With my incompetent cervix, my OB put me on pelvic rest for this entire pregnancy.
This exactly how mine was last week. Don't get me wrong I have had them in the past but this time I was in so much pain but didn't have the typical hurt to pee and peeing often symptoms. The doctor orginally thought one of the cysts on my ovaries erupted since I was in so much pain. Thankfully it was just an infection. If it is an infection, you do need antibiotics.
For 2 weeks I had crushing pain in my pelvic bone, and thought it was just normal pg pains. Finally went to the doc, and found out that I had a bladder infection. I didn't even suspect a bladder infection b/c I didn't have any other symptoms that usually indicate a UTI (full-bladder feeling, burning when peeing, urgency, frequent urination, etc). Doc said that bladder infections in pregnancy can feel completely different and maybe not even have symptoms.
