Dear Scout, (dog tummy bug mentioned)

I just HAVE to tell you about my day yesterday! I got a tummy ache, just like you did a few days ago. My hoomans were at work making money for dog biscuits, and I have to be in my gigantor crate because I would chew the house down if left to my own devices. So, I messed out both ends, all over myself and my crate. Daddy came home, and of course smelled it before he saw it. My brother and I had to stand outside while Daddy dismantled my crate and took it outside to pressure wash it.

Then I got to have a bath- and I took every opportunity to punish my dad. I kept trying to escape, and at one point I bumped the nozzle that makes the shower come on- no one except me thought it was funny.

And you know how you just don't smell right when you get out of the bath? Well, I went to the back yard and promptly took care of that by rolling in dirt. Problem solved.

The good news is, I'm really digging my new diet of rice and chicken. I was getting soooo tired of dry cereal.

Anyway, I hope you are feeling better- I am. Or I better be, because I think Daddy will have a meltdown if I do that again.

    Dear Shelby,

    I am glad to hear you are feeling better! Chicken and rice rules. I plan to eat lots more pinecones so I can have it again. Those silly hoomans of mine only give it to me when I eat lots of pinecones, so that must be what they want me to do.

    I try to make the hoomans happy.

    If you are looking for a new treat, may I suggest shoelaces or your Mommy's underwear from the hamper? Be sure to rip the underwear in half, it's the only way to get the full flavor.

    And then, when the hoomans realize how much fun you are having, they will join in and play that chase game, where they pretend to be mad but we know they are just in on the fun!

    Dear Scout,

    SQUEEEEE! You like underwear too?!?!?! Here's a little tip- wait until company comes to drag them out. Also, if they are stuck under other clothes in the laundry basket, simply pluck the crotch out the holes in the basket. It's like an appetizer.

    Shelby, you are a genius! I am going to try that trick tonight.

    I think I will wait until the homestudy visit to bring out the underwear. I think the social worker would really like that.
