I guess I'll need to feel it out...but I just posted my first post...and probably didn't post it in the right place, and felt like I got some snooty responses...it brought back some memories from The Knot (6 years ago) and I realized....hmmmm, maybe I don't want to participate if it's going to be a bunch of caddy (sp?) girls hyped up on hormones, comparing their pregnancies...that's WORSE than the knot. Guess I'll find out soon enough...hope I am not offending anyone...take it for what it's worth.
Re: Hmmmm, hesitant to join the Bump community...
Really, you thought those were harsh?

Check out the monthly boards. There really are friendly people around. I've posted some on the 1st Tri board, its a hit or miss sometimes, but mostly really friendly there as well. But I've never had any problems/seen any problems in my month board.
I have also gotten extremely snarky, rude, defensive and counterproductive comments on posts.
I don't know what to tell you. I've been debating the same things. Goodluck!

If it's reposting someone else's entry too, you've hit the Quote button intead.
Since this was your first post, I fail to see how that is possible.
But nice try.
I don't always take people being rude very well and I've come across this a lot on thebump but I have reminded myself over and over again that these people are internet strangers and when they are rude (or mean) I don't take it to heart. Some people will never outgrow being in middle school/high school and being the mean girl or maybe it is that they were the ones that girls were mean to in school so now that they are typing something on the internet and not face to face, they feel like they can say anything they want. I will second what someone else said, lurk lurk and lurk before posting b/c it allows you to get a feel before posting plus try out your month board.
If what they said to you on that post hurt your feelings, the bump may not be for you. I hope you find a place where you do fit in, I have for the most part really enjoyed my time on the bump.
