Where do you buy your organic meat?

Do you buy it at the grocery store? I don't trust that Perdue or other big companies would have actually organic chicken, etc. And we don't have any Whole Foods near here or any butcher shops. So I was looking at farms that sell online but wasn't sure if you all had any recs first? TIA! :)

Re: Where do you buy your organic meat?

  • I would check a local farm. I get mine from the store but it's an organic store

  • I get mine from a local meat store. sorry I know I'm no help...
  • local butcher for beef

chicken is more difficult. when it says "natural" it doesn't mean organic. "natural" is not a regulated term. our grocery store carries "nature's promise" brand chicken that is raised without hormones and antibiotics and it says that on the package.

  • I get mine from Whole Foods, but I live less than ten miles from the world headquarters, so I'm very spoiled.

Is it possible to do it via mail order?  If so, would you be open to that?

  • We get our chicken from a local farm and we buy 1/8 of a cow once per year from the same place. You could check out your local farmers market and ask the vendors who sell meat whether they're organic or not.

  • Thanks for your replies! Yes I want to do mail order but don't know where. We don't have any local farms.

And FYI, Nature's Promise is not actually raised without hormones and in humane conditions. They are such scammers!
