3rd Trimester

Drinking to induce labor

I'm drinking a small cappuccino blast from Baskin Robbins to induce labor.

This will be the first time baby has ever had caffeine, as I don't drink soda or coffee (except in ice cream form-but haven't since getting PG).

Think it will work?

Re: Drinking to induce labor

  • Definitely! :)

I suggest waiting up all night for the contractions to start.

  • Caffeine never worked for me, but it worked for my sister for her 2 kids. I always had to "use my hubby" to go into labor. Embarrassed

    Good luck! Big Smile

After drinking it, I'm sure I'll be up all night. LOL...  Not that I can sleep anyway.

  • I so thought you were gonna say you're drinking alcohol to induce... oh my God that would be awful haha. I'm not sure how affective coffee ice cream will be though.. never heard of caffeine induced labors but hey it's better than castor oil, right?? :-)

I thought you were talking about alcohol too. I wondered, since when my mom had me she was having some signs of labor but not in active labor yet, and the doctor told her to go home and have a glass of wine. But, Doctor Google tells me that alcohol can actually suppress labor, so I'd stick to the cappuccino for now. Dr. Google says to have a Guiness after the baby is born though, to help your milk come in :)
