Anyone else constantly worrying?

I know I shouldn't worry, and as a Christian I know it is wrong to worry, that God is in control...but I just keep worrying about every. little. thing.

Well, first DS had jaundice issues and I was so worried. Then I noticed his lymph nodes were swollen in the back of his head and his doc says it is fine and I keep worrying. Then his tummy looks big...like distended a little bit and I start worrying but my mom and sister say he is fine! I look online and it basically says it could be from weight gain, gas, swallowing air while feeding, etc.

I'm sure he's fine but every single thing makes me worry. I just don't want anything to happen to my munchkin because I love him so much!

Anyone else in the same boat?

In my mom's words I just need to get a grip and trust God and the doctors!

  • It is totally normal to worry! But in the end, it will make you miserable to worry about everything little thing. My daughter was born with jaundice too, and I was a little worried at first, but she's eating, pooping, peeing, and gradually getting rid of it.

If something really bothers you, then talk with your doctor. That is their job : )

  • First, our babies are the same age:)  second, I am right there with you.  I worry that I'll be holding him and trip and drop him or that when I lay him down, he won't wake back up.  His belly gets big and looks so funny compared to the rest of him.  And, I've snipped his little fingers TWICE cutting his nails.  I just try and cherish when he 'smiles' at me and all the little milestones I've been seeing that shows he's growing like he should be!
  • ME! I worry about everything too. Today I was convinced DD had a fever. We had our 1 week pedi appt and she was fine. Also, we're having a little trouble with her formula intake. Sometimes she takes 2 oz and sometimes she wants 3 or even 3.5. I was all worried I was starving her.

I'm hoping as I get the hang of things I'll worry less. Then again, I worried a lot during my pregnancy, so who knows?!

  • yeah, i worry constantly. especially at night when she and i both should be sleeping, but i'm watching to make sure she's breathing. i end up holding her in my arms and sleeping on the couch...well, sometimes sleeping. i'm exhausted, but i'm just a nervous mother.
