Triggering with 2 Ovidrel?

I did my trigger shot late last night and will have my retreval Friday at 10:30am!  One thing we did differently this cycle was to trigger with 2 ovidrel instead of just one...anyone else done this?

    I haven't heard of that before! I used 1 Ovidrel for IUIs but a vial of HCG for my IVF.

    Me: Stage II endo, borderline high FSH
    DH: perfect
    1 lap, 5 IUIs = 4 BFNs and 1 c/p
    2 IVFs, 2 FETs = 1 BFN, 1 c/p, 1 ectopic and finally a sticky BFP in May 2011!

    Yes! If you have multiple follicles two triggers should assure they all release. GL!!!!

    I did my trigger shots with 2 Ovidrel as well. I asked my RE why and they explained that years ago they were trying to determine why some IVFs were more successful than others, they thought they saw a pattern in women who took 1 trigger shot instead of 2, but they couldn't pinpoint it to if it was weight, age, etc...so she said they do 2 because it's better than one, and have the extra will not harm the process.

    I just had my retrieval today. Good Luck tomorrow!

    For my last IVF, I was supposed to trigger with two Ovidrel, but then my E2 was sky high so she only had me do one. Then, as you might remember, I had an issue with my eggs not being mature. I remember you saying you had those problems. Perhaps your RE wants you to do two as a means of addressing that issue. Good luck, sweetie!

    Hmmm....now you have me wondering.  I triggered each time with HCG before.  For my upcoming IVF cycle, they ordered my Ovidrel this time, but only one.  I will definitely ask my RE about this when I see him.

    We ordered two for IVF #1, only used one, and now for IVF #2 the RE made me order a second 'just in case.' Good luck!
