At what point did you start IUI's?

My RE mentioned it today when she called about the negative BETA. 

TTC since 9/08 dx: 4/10 ovulation problems 1st cycle - 100mg clomid (5-9), HCG trigger, TI = BFN 2nd cycle - 100mg clomid (5-9), HCG trigger, TI = BFN 3rd cycle - 100mg clomid (5-9), HCG trigger, IT = BFN 4th cycle - 2.5mg femera (5-9) - cancelled due to cyst 5th cycle - 2.5mg femera (5-9), HCG trigger, IUI, TI =BFN Moved on to IFV IFV#1 - loss at 6weeks IFV#2 - Cancelled due to Cyst IFV#2 - 300Foll,150met, 8/11 ER - 7R 3F 8/14 ET

    Given my Dx, I went straight to IVF, so I have no advice or experience.

    But I did want to tell you that there is a weekly IUI check-in that you might find beneficial to join.

    After 3 failed clomid cycles (and 21 months of trying), we moved on to IUI.

    After 3 failed clomid cycles (and 21 months of trying), we moved on to IUI.

    Me, too (except less time - I was at 15 months).

    It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!

    We went straight to IUI because of our MFI.

    Jun.- Sep. 2010 IUI#1-#3 = BFN
    Oct. 2010 = IVF #1 = B/G Twins (passed away Feb. 2011)
    May 2011 = Myomectomy and trans-abdominal cerclage (TAC)
    Sep. 2011 = Surprise BFP = C/P
    Feb. 2012 = sFET #1 = BFN
    Feb.2012 = Hail Mary IUI #4 = BFN
    April/May 2012 = FET #2 w/our last two embies = BFP (Please let this be it!)

    Baby Boy Owen and Baby Girl Avery were born too early on Feb. 13, 2011 due to a pedunculated fibroid, incompetent cervix and suspected placental abruption.

    I'm 35 so after six months on our own we went for testing and met with an RE. We started right in with IUI.
    Sept. 2010: IVF #1= BFP; May 2012: FET #1= blighted ovum, D&C; FET #2= ?? Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

    Right after figuring out exactly what our diagnosis was (MFI--low morph, PCOS, high FSH, hostile CM and ovarian cysts) we went to IUI. We did one cycle of TI but because of the MFI and the hostile CM, that's all we did of TI with our RE.

    I started as soon as I learned what my dx was.
    ::: Married June 2003:::
    TTC #1 since: Aug. 2008
    Me: 34, DOR, MTHFR-A1298C (heterozygous), decreased blood flow to uterus, Mild Endo
    DH: 38, Balanced translocation 5&10, unexplained MFI, normal SA and SCSA
    Tx History: IUI 1&2= BFN
    IVF# 1 W/ICSI= BFN
    IVF# 2: cancelled d/t no response
    IVF# 3= 1 egg retrieved=immature/not viable
    IVF# 4= c/p
    ***CCRM ODWU***
    Found DHs BT and Me-decreased blood flow to uterus
    Recommended DE IVF w/PGD, incorporate electro-acupuncture. Decided to cycle locally
    ***New RE***
    DE IVF# 1(cycle #6) w/pgd, (freeze all): 30R, 23M, 15F, slow/poor embryo development, 4 biopsied, 1 Normal "Norm"; DE IVF w/PGD, incorporate electro-acupuncture. 
    IVF# 6: (OE/DS) cancelled
    IVF# 7: (OE/DS) 1R, 1M, 1F, arrested day 5
    Plan-DE IVF# 2 (cycle #8): DE/DS in May 2015

    I am 36, so after my miscarriage in 11/09, my OB had us try on our own until June.  I was on clomid and TI for one cycle, then my first IUI on 7/30.  We did not want to waste any time due to my age.  We will only try 3 IUI cycles then will have to move to IVF.

    03/14/11 - IVF #2 start stims, ER-03/26/11, ET-03/31/11, beta 04/08/11 = BFFN
    05/16/11 - Hail Mary Cycle - Inj+TI =BFP!! 06/08/11 Beta #1 71.8, 06/10/11 Beta #2 201, U/S 6/20-1 sac. U/S 6/28 sac and hb of 118!!

    After a year of trying on our own and after finding out about our MFI we went straight to IUI.

    I hope it's okay if I respond... 

    I did two Clomid cycles with my OB. Then when I started with the RE I moved to injectable IUIs. (See siggy for details.)

    In general, my RE believes that after three tries at any treatment (besides IVF) it's time to move on to the next thing.

    After 1yr of trying; we did not gd any TI with meds b/c of MFI.

    We moved on to IUI after meeting with our RE and after he confirmed the MFI dx.

    We have no sperm issues, so the RE said an IUI would only increase our chances a bit. We had our first IUI with injectables this last cycle and we were successful. The cycle before that we did the injectables with TI and got a BFN. It could be a fluke, but we were very lucky that IUI #1 worked. Good luck to you!

    After not ovulating for about a year... including 3 failed clomid cycles.  Moved on to gonal f+trigger+iui.
