...when changing diapers at other people's houses? I thought it was a pretty standard thing to do.
We had company this weekend (DH's sister and husband), and they changed their sons (6 months and 2 years) on the floor, and even the couch, with no changing pad. DH did say something, gently suggesting they use one (sister-in-law made a sarcastic comment and didn't use one).
Just wanted to get some thoughts on this. Isn't it normal to use a pad? We always do and plan to always use one.
Re: Do you always use a changing pad...
Oh my gosh, I have never even gone without a changing pad in my own house, let alone someone else's!
Like I really want to a) put his bare bottom on someone else's floor, where who knows what germs are lurking and b) risk stains or leaks on their floor/couch etc. cleanable or not!

I always use something - if not a changing pad, then a receiving blanket. LO spends a lot of time at my grandmas house, and DF's mothers house - they never use one even when I hand it to them.
Yes, I always use a changing pad. I would also expect that people would use them at my house as well. I think it is nasty to change a diaper when there is nothing to guard against accidents. It is disrespectful to no use one in someone elses house.
