Mom's Due In March, RE: Shower

So, I have been asked to give two host dates for a baby shower. One will be in my home town which is nice since we wont have to drive. The other will be about a 4 hour drive away.?

It seems that most ladies are having their showers sometime between 25 weeks and 32 weeks. For me that time frame falls over the two busiest months for our families (Thanksgiving & Christmas).

When are you thinking of having your shower(s)?

I was thinking maybe one early in December (the one in my home town) and then having the shower with the four hour drive some time in Jan.

Thoughts? ?Thank you!?

    One thanksgiving weekend (I'll be with family out of town so it will be a small family one) then the bigger one Dec 6.  EDD 1/19

    My mom is hosting mine and thought mid-January would be the best so that it's past all of the Christmas parties and still around 6 weeks before my due date. Ideally, I'd like to be more like 30 weeks but December is such a tough month to get a free weekend as it is. Luckily all of my relatives are local.

    I am due at the end of March, but am thinking late January, beginning of February.

     If early December works for you and everyone else, have it then.

    I'm one of the odd one's whose shower will be after baby arrives...so I'm not much help.

    On the flip side, all of the talk of baby gear from those of you who are having a shower pre-baby and building your registries, are really helpful!

    I had mine in Feb for a March 7th due date.  If I were you, I'd do the one that is the 4 hour drive first, then the local one.  As it gets closer to your due date, you'll probably want to travel less.  At least I didn't want to travel much, we had to go to a party 7 hours away in late January, and it was a long drive for me.

    My EDD is Feb 27th so pretty close to March and my shower is being planned for Jan 17th.

    Do the one you need to drive 4 hours to earlier because like the pp said you will probaly want to travel less closer to your due date.

    my EDD is 3/17 and my shower is on 2/14. valentines day. i'll be 36 weeks! i was hoping to have it earlier but it's tough for us to get such a large family together, and if it's too early, it'll be too close to the holidays. not sure if i like the idea, but it's going to be a brunch sort of thing, so lovebirds can still (hopefully) attend!

    I am not having one since this is my 2nd baby but I have friends who are due around the same time in March and know they will have theirs after the holidays in January sometime. That would still give you plenty of time before the baby comes.

    I'm due March 9; most of my family lives close by and I wanted it far away from xmas so we are having the shower Feb 1st or the 8th

    My mom is planning on doing mine sometime at the end of Jan beginning of Feb, I will be around 32-34 weeks.

    Im having one with the family the weekend after thanksgiving while they are here visiting and the other one with all my friends at the end of January.
