Well ladies, it looks like March wasn't my lucky charm this time around. After a week of spotting I convinced my doctor to get me in for an ultrasound, even though my hcg levels were increasing as they should. They weren't able to find a heartbeat and said the baby stopped growing at 8w4d (which doesn't really make sense because I always have long cycles and wouldn't have even been at that point if I had a normal 28 day cycle - but I guess this is a moot point without a heartbeat). So, I have to go have another ultrasound tomorrow to confirm 100% and if they still can't find a heartbeat then I have to have a D&C.
I definitely don't want to scare any of you because often it's nothing, but I would just say if you're spotting and it's really worrying you, push for an ultrasound even if your hcg levels are fine. Mine were ok and I was even having morning sickness all last week.
This has been really hard on my husband and me, since it took us six months to get pregnant in the first place. We're hoping we get lucky and won't have to wait so long the second time around. I'm trying to stay positive and look on the bright side - I did get pregnant once, I can get pregnant again.
I just wanted to say that in the short time I was pregnant, I really enjoyed reading all of your posts and sharing my thoughts with you. You're a great group of people and I wish you all the luck in the world with your little ones.
Re: I guess it wasn't meant to be...
I'm sorry to hear this. It sounds like you have a good outlook though, and I wish you the best in trying again.
How far along do you think you are? If you had long cycles, you may not be as far along as they think (as you said), and maybe the baby only is 8w4d. I have heard of people not hearing the hb until later than that. Hopefully you get different news tomorrow.

I am so sorry. Are you going to hold off on the D&C for a week or two? Maybe he is just measuring large, but no visible HB yet? I don't want to give false hope, but it seems quick to decide he isn't viable. (((hugs))) to whatever you and DH decide. We hope to see on on 1st Tri soon again.
