Need advice

Some of you might have read my post yesterday about going to an amusement park next week. Well, some of the people we're going with can only go on Wed. My CD13 appt is on Tues, and if this cycles follows the same pattern as in the past, then our IUI will be on Wed. My gut is telling me not to go to the park the same day as our IUI, but I don't know how to tell everyone that. We're going with my brothers and their gf's. They know we're struggling with IF, but have no idea we're doing IUI (they prob don't eve know what it is). My mom is very Catholic and doesn't believe in science interfering with pregnancy, so she doesn't know we've been doing IUI's, so I don't want one of my brother's to slip and tell her. I'm the type to ride any type of ride at a park, so I know if I'm not riding much, they'll immediately think I'm pg and get all excited.

What should I do/say?? I could be just over analyzing...

Do you not want them to know you are trying at all?

Because, you could say "We are trying, in the 2ww, and I don't want to risk it."

If not, just say you don't feel well, and let them speculate. Hopefully, you are pregnant, so it won't matter!

I wouldn't feel comfortable going the day of the IUI. I might even hesitate at all of the walking around, especially in the heat. Can you just tell them you have a dr's appointment already scheduled and can't go? Or that you have to have some lab work done?

i'd just say i have a doc appt. that day and can't make it. nobody needs to know what your doc appt. is for.

I like Allison's idea - just say you don't want to risk it at this point in your cycle. My doctor always told me to return to normal activities after my IUI, but I guess an amusement park probably doesn't fall in that category.

My IUI's actually never fell on the same day so maybe you'll get lucky and it will get pushed to Thursday and you won't need to worry about. GL!

I'd say this. They can't argue with you.

I wouldn't risk it. You don't want to give yourself any reason to have regrets later.

I hope that it all works out. I have never had an IUI so I have not advice there, but I would be too worried to do anything like an amusement park on the same day.

I would go with I have an appointment and can't make it end of story. There's no reason you need to share anything you don't want to. If you find out tuesday that it won't be wednesday then you can just say they moved your appointment last minute.

If you feel uncomfortable going I'd just say you can't do it - you have an appt sounds good.

Could you go and just not ride the rides and say you have a sinus infection or an ear problem and it hurts to ride anything?

I wouldn't tell about the IUI given the reasons you already listed ..

I'd just say I have a doctor's appointment and won't be able to make it. They don't need to know what for, especially not if they're gonna squawk about it.

I agree - I wouldn't go, because I know I would blame myself if things didn't work out...
