Don't do it without coupons!!!! You can save SO MUCH MONEY...
It varies by age. They use more diapers at first, but eat less. At about 5-7 months they can gulp down formula like mad! It also depends if you go name brand or generic.
We use Huggies. I pay no more than $5 a pack. We use a pack every 5-7 days (retail on sale is about $10 bucks).. So I'd say $50 -60 a month with no coupons...
I was stupid and used Enfamil for Luca. Without coupons or sale it's $24 a can. A can will last 3-7 days depending on age and size. It's super easy to spend $125 or more a month on formula along. The Target brand is $12 a can (and they have coupons). If you plan to FF, I'd try to start with the Target brand. You can cut you costs by 50% or more. It also goes on sale for 10% off once a month... I know it's not a lot, but I'd stock up and save $1.20 a can...
Formula- It's been a couple of years but we used generic "Enfamil" unless I had a really good coupon. Target, Kroger and Walmart's store brands are about $12 a can and I recall one large can lasting us about a week. So, $50-60 a month.
Diapers- Also bought generic most of the time unless I had a coupon. Generic Target or Kroger diapers were my preference and both were about $20 for the big box of diapers. The big box would last a couple of weeks usually. Keep in mind that as diaper sizes go up you get less in a package for the same price.
It's been a while, so I hope my memory is correct on both of these.
I was a Target girl for diapers (aesthetically they are best for boys-with cute blue and green dots and no cartoon characters)--the box runs right at $14 and ranged from $10-20 cheaper than the large boxes from Costco. I had a huge supply from showers, but once I started buying them (and obviously that is after the millions of diapers a day stage) I think I normally spent about $30 a month.
We switched to formula after about 7 months and the Target brand was also great. HUGE price savings and as a bonus was one of the ones my DS tolerated the best.
thanks guys...i said no coupons because I don't always get them up here ( no paper) and wanted to be able to budget for full price amount. I will definitely use them wherever I cam!
I would say maybe $50/mo on diapers and $75-100/mo on formula (for name brand). I did Similac and Enfamil at first, too - then I realized that even with the checks they sent me, the Target brand was cheaper, so I switched him and he never had any problems. Next baby, i'll probably just start out on Target brand!
The younger the baby, the more diaper but less formula they use.
The older the baby, the less diaper but more formula they use.
Newborn goes through about 10-12 diapers a day. A box of pampers is about $44. So I would say at first, a box only last about 2 weeks. so a month of diapers is around $90-$100 with tax. For formula, she drank about 16oz a day but only did Ready To Feed which is the most expensive. It's $7 a quart (32 oz). So about 4 quarters a week ($28), a month worth would be around $120.
Older baby goes through about 5-8 diapers a day. As the sizes gets bigger, there's less diapers per box...but I would say that a box last about 3 weeks. so about $60 a month in diapers. For formula, she drinks about a quart a day, so that's $45 a week, so about $180 a month. Then you also have solid food, which is about $2-3 a day, and so $60 a month.
Other expense: Wipes (we pay $3 for the package and it last about a week). Diaper genie refills are like $6 (they last about 2-3 weeks for us). Dr's appt ($25 co pay) visits at 2 weeks, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months. and 12 months. And any other sick visits on top of this. Clothes, toys, medicine, and just the basic stuff.

We use Huggies or Costco Kirklands brand diapers and price varies but w/out coupons I would say around $50 a month.
No idea on formula, if you can definitely breastfeed, it's free!
