I just got an email from my cousin that she bought a highchair for LO when she found out that we're gonna have a girl. she said she bought it way before we did our registry. i guess she checked our registry just now and saw that we registered for a different highchair and that it has been bought. she is asking me now what i want to do. she bought the chair on Gilt not at BRU so not sure if I can return at BRU?
This is the highchair she got:

This is the highchair we registered for and was already bought off the registry (Actually, it's strange because we registered for a different chair cover design. Not sure how the cocoa pink design got in there. We chose a gender neutral cover. Can people edit the registry?!?!)
I like the highchair my cousin got since it matches our contemporary furniture (and it's got good reviews) but it's pink. if we have a second LO and turns out to be a a boy, we won't be able to use. On the other hand, we like the 2nd highchair because it's a space saver. We registered for a gender neutral print. Although, we can always return/exchange this since it's from BRU. I cant decide which highchair to keep :-/. WWYD?
Re: highchair - WWYD?
you might see if you can get store credit from BRU if you decide you don't want the first one. but otherwise, i think you're stuck with it, whether you like it or not?
but i'm no help in deciding which to keep
they both look neat though! i haven't gotten to high chair research yet...
re the cover - i noticed that about some of our BRU registry items too! what i scanned and what showed up in our registry online were not always the same print. not sure if i made a mistake in the store (or things were mislabeled - i was scanning the barcodes on the shelves, not the ones on the actual products) or if there was something weird going on. i went through and double-checked everything, and fixed what needed to be fixed online.
they both got good reviews so i am torn :-/.
re the cover, I know when I edited the registry online a few weeks go, I had it in a different cover. i was surprised to see tonight that what was bought was with a different cover.
what's gilt?
i think if you wanted to return it, go ahead. she told you of the dilemma and so she's putting it in your court re what to decide. i would go for the more neutral one in case there is #2 (or 3 or 4) hahahah
hawaii 10.2008 plan ;P married bio ???
Option 1 -- Check to see if Buy Buy Baby carries that particular Boon high chair. If they do, then you may be able to return it there.... Then keep the other one. Don't tell your cousin tho! (No returns to Guilt, fyi)
Option 2 -- That Boon high chair is SWEET! So what that it's pink, maybe you'll have all girls, who knows. But you will get a ton of use even if you only have one girl. And if you have a boy next? Tell your cousin you hope a blue one will be her next gift! LOL. Seriously, if you do have a boy, then I'm sure you can shell out $55 for that booster seat you registered for, which I assume you would return. Actually, since the Boon chair is listed at $199, I bet you could actually sell it on CL for the $55 you need to get that booster seat for your future boy.
Obviously I am partial to Option 2. That chair is CUTE! Enjoy it!

hahaha... i wasn't sure what to say but then i read this and thought it was a great idea!!
i'd keep the boon and return the registry one for store credit.
for anyone reading this who's interested in the boon, it's $159 at kinderbliss (see my post below) w/the 40% off code

I just talked to DH. He likes the Boon chair too (except that it's pink). We decided we'll just keep it and return the one that was bought off the registry. Of course, we won't tell the person/whoever got it :-P.

I think some of the items get switched in the registry somehow - I've seen this a lot. I had to call them to get something switched - I picked blue, they listed pink... not going to work since it was a boy!
I don't understand why people buy things they can't return without even asking if you want it! I would let HER deal with it - say you registerd for the space saver b/c you don't have the space for a hc like that - you want it to be able to grow with LO and the FPSS does grow into a booster, plus, you can take it with you - although it is a little cumbersome to carry around. maybe I'm just PMSing today, lol, but I'd let her try to return it to BRU without a receipt and they might give her store credit, which you can obviously use. That would be best case scenario, IMO.
