Infertility

tell me it's ok...

I just majorly violated the "no heavy lifting" rule and hoisted one of those giant poland springs bottles on to the water dispenser in my office.

It's like 1 million degrees here and I'm sick of there being no water! I'm usually the only woman around here who does it so everyone looks to me when the water is out. ugh. what can I say in the future because I'm NOT doing it anymore.

  • It's okay hon :)

Staying hydrated is very important - especially in this heat!

  • Are you sure you're not me??? This was totally me this morning.

I had these exact thoughts (although no BFP, just in the 2ww).  Everyone in my office is on the older side and I worry about them having a heart attack while lifting the poland spring bottle.  So, I put it in this morning.

Next time, can you grab someone and tell them you threw your back out and see if they can do it.

ETA:  It's totally okay.  You need water to stay hydrated and healthy!

  • You are fine. You would definitely feel it if you were not.

As for future times, tell them you have injured or torn your rotator cuff or hurt your back. Both issues could take months to heal properly.

  • it's ok cutie

    not drink up :)

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

  • thanks ladies. you made me feel better.

It's annoying that I'm the only one that does it - I work with a bunch of able bodied young women who never really offer to help. In fairness, I drink a TON of water from the water cooler (64oz + per day) so I sort of felt compelled to start helping (when the only man left our office suite), but I need to come up with a good excuse going forward. I think that thrown out back is a good one - that can last awhile. :-)

  • All of the women in my office are total wusses too.  It really annoys me sometimes the things they "can't" lift.  Um, I'm no super woman, if I can do it, I'm sure you can too!  Angry

  • I'm sure you are okay. Especially if you are usually the one that has done this. Your body is used to it.

I would just say that your back has been acting up and that you are trying not to lift heavy things. Then in couple short months you can tell all your co-workers about your BFP and laugh about how you made up stories to not change the water.

    Good luck hun!
