when did you/will you tell the grandparents?

we have a small family party this weekend where for once, both sets of parents and our siblings will be in one place at one time. my closest cousin and his wife will also be there, but essentially its just our parents and siblings.

we planned to tell them this weekend, i will be just about 9 weeks. heard and saw the heartbeat at my RE last week.

We jumped the gun and told them right away, because we were so excited. So they knew the day after we did.

we won't actually "tell" them per se. we will go home for a month-long holiday in october. i will be about 20 weeks then, and we will let the bump be the announcement. it is very hard to keep this secret, but easier since we live on the other side of the planet.

We told our parents/siblings just before I hit 5 weeks. But we have only told 2 friends and DH's aunt, and will tell everyone else after my 1st doctor appt at 12 weeks.

ive told my closest friends already. i would tell them either way, regardless. i also trust them to keep my secrets!

its really just dh's parents that i am concerned with. i cant trust them not to rent the good year blimp to fly around NYC with the news. hopefully they will respect our wishes and wait for our word to spread the news with the entire world.

We told my parents/sibblings/grandmother at 8 weeks right after our first u/s. DH's parents don't know yet! They live in FL and are coming up at the end of the month for a visit, so we will probably tell them then.

After our u/s which is at 10 weeks. Probably that weekend (closer to 11 weeks).

We told them after the 4th positive HPT. I think this weekend would an awesome way to tell!! That is if you are ready too.

I think we're going to wait 3 more weeks to tell them. We will be camping with my in-laws and thought it would be fun to tell them then. My first appointment is on 8/31 and thought I would share with my mom after that. I will be 8-9 weeks at that time.

Not sure about my friends yet, was hoping to hold out til 12 weeks, but not sure if that's possible.

Its killing me not to shout it from the rooftops though! I did tell one person, my best coworker who is at home with a 1 month old on maternity leave - she doesn't know my family nor does she have the internet or cell service at her house so I know she's not tellin!

I told my mom and sister the week that I found out.... so, that would be 4 weeks. We are waiting until around 8 weeks to tell DH's parents and 12 weeks to tell the rest of the family.
