On April 24 I purchased a wall decal for Addy's room from an Etsy seller who I have purchased from prior. On June 15th when I inquired she advised her machine broke and she was waiting for it to come back. No worries... Well it is now August 4 and her shop is closed for "vacation" till July 15th. (AHEM.) and I emailed her on there on July 13th for an update as it cost $170 and I am getting rather upset that it has been over 3 months w/ no merch...
She hasn't emailed me back and like I said her shop is closed past when it was to be closed. What (if any) recourse do I have and/or what do I do?
Re: NER: Advice on Etsy purchase not received...
did you use paypal? you can file a dispute if so... not sure how etsy works otherwise.
that really sucks.
sorry that's happening to you!
eta: didn't realize there was a time limit for paypal. maybe you can still contact paypal with documentation of the correspondence since it was more recent?
If you purchased with a CC you should request a chargeback. You've brought the issue to the attention of the seller several times and haven't recieved any feedback, waited SEVERAL months, and still nothing. Since the seller is not cooperating, a chargeback would be your best bet.
I don't know if there is a time limitation on requesting one, but it doesn't hurt to try.
I had the same thing happen to me. I Googled her and found her home phone number and called her at home. She was so embarrassed she PayPaled me the money back. ($190!).
What I hate is that because I never received the product, I can't leave a bad review on Etsy. And I waited four months. From now on, I will never leave an Etsy purchase past the 45 days for PayPal.
That's awesome but how did you find her? This seller has a pretty common name... So googling got me nothing...
I emailed her on Etsy again & also emailed the address on the pay pal I sent to... So we'll see. If I don't hear back by Monday I'll have to try to file a claim. but I don't know how that'll go... It has definitely been over 45 days... We'll see what happens.
Thanks ladies!
