Anyone have one of these? My shower is going to be a brunch and I'm also hosting one for a friend the week after mine. I do have alot of ideas for food, but I'm not sure what to do for her favors. Any other ideas/suggestions welcome too!
I will be attending a brunch shower in a few weeks. I've been to many brunches prior so I'm assuming it's eggs, toast, homfries, bacon, sausages, ham, omelets, french toast, pancakes, fruits, juices, mimosa (sp), etc. yummm now i'm hungry
I had one. I love brunch. Especially if in summer since it can get hot in the afternoons. My hostess' made oatmeal chocolate chip cookie mixes in mason jars for favors.
Favors: cut out cookies in cellophane bags with cute ribbon (get a cutout that goes with your theme); truffles; m&m's; homemade chocolate lollipops (again the mold should go with your theme); bag of apples with a apple recipe (cobbler, crisp, pie, sauce) - you can get the smallish brown craft bags at Michael's and decorate the outside with an apple stamp and fille with about 4-6 apples each; maple sugar candy, Christmas ornament (depending on the season)
Food:
my go to menu for a brunch shower:
cheese/crackers, maybe shrimp cocktail or a veggie tray
quiche - usually one veg and one with meat
fruit kabobs or fruit salad
Greek yogurt w/honey & granola on the side
mini-muffins or scones
chicken salad served with mini rolls
mixed greens with raspberries/nuts/blue cheese - or any combo of fruit/nut and cheese with dressing
dessert - cupcakes, fruit tart, mini cheesecakes or cookies
Drinks:
orange juice, champagne (for mimosa's), Bloody Mary's, Sparkling water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate bar (seasonal)
Im think of doing brunch to and I was going to order sticky buns (cinnamon buns) and place them in little boxes with a thank you that read Thank you from Kim and her Little Buns In the Oven...

Most of the showers I've gone to were brunch showers, starting about 11am (any earlier is way tough for me, but 11 is okay).
Staples:
Egg bake or quiche, especially cute are mini quiches baked in muffin tins or you can even buy frozen ones
sausage or bacon
fresh fruit
mimosas or OJ, punch, coffee
My sister did this....mugs with tea packets and a little tag that said "a baby is brewing" or something like that.
