TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Back from OB

Lamest appointment ever...

Basically, he said I'm fine.  It's up to me.  If my insurance will cover an RPL panel I can do it if I want.  He isn't concerned about my spotting or luteal phase, as I seem to get pregnant just fine.  He will definitely put me on progesterone immediately after I get pregnant again.

I've been crazy freaked out over having consecutive blighted ova, but he said today that they really don't know what the first loss was.  It could have been, but probably wasn't.  A different practice doctor told me that over the phone.  Second loss, definitely blighted ovum.

Two early losses, no major issues, chalk it up to bad luck and try again.  I feel relieved and silly for getting so worked up...but also, I feel slightly disappointed.  I wanted to have something "wrong" so we can fix it.

Re: Back from OB

  • I'm sorry :(  That's a hard position to be in.  No one wants something major to be wrong with them, but at the same time if there's nothing wrong there's nothing to fix.  I felt the same way, all the things that are wrong with us are minor and not likely the cause of the miscarriages.  It's frustrating, to say the least :(

I hope you liked him though! I feel like having a proactive doctor, who you like and who you feel like is on your side makes such a difference.

I do like him, a lot!  It probably doesn't come off that way in this post, but he rocks.  He is crazy optimistic and left telling me I will have lots and lots of babies.  His wife had 5 losses before having three perfect children, so I feel like he sorta "gets it"

  • I think we're pretty much in the same boat, as far as the 'just try again' advice.  I know it's hard not to have a solution.  My testing all came back fine and I was glad to be healthy, but still wanted some answer just so I could have some peace of mind.  I am glad he's optimistic for you.

You can try the red raspberry tea leaf for the spotting/LP issue.  That might help.

  • ((hugs)) I'm glad he's optimistic!  That's really good!  I know exactly what you mean about kind of wanting something to be wrong, I'm like that too and we haven't found anything definite.
