So, last night I was lying on the couch watching "Teen Mom" and I could feel my little guy kicking pretty hard and I looked down and could actually see the knot in my belly from where he was kicking. I was like wow! He's packing an awfully hard punch for a fella who isn't even a pound quite yet!
Are any of you getting the feeling that your baby is doing tae kwon do in your belly?
Re: Feeling your baby kick
Yes. I joke that he's practicing his corner and dead ball kicks (DH plays soccer).
I'd posted this about a week ago but my DH got to see the visible kicks and started singing "Hello my baby, Hello my honey, hello my ragtime gal." If you've seen the end of Spaceballs, that's the reference.

For weeks during the world cup, whenever that Hyundai commercial came on, DH started joking about doing the same thing. When spain won he was making jokes like "How about Cesc VeryGermanLastname?" I was willing to meet him halfway with "Xavi" (short for Xavier). LOL

What does this feel like? I hear people saying this all the time but I haven't a clue what I should be "looking" for.

That commercial cracks me up!! My german soccer loving family is all for me naming our son after a player! DH is 50% dutch and well...the names are just too strange for me. lol. I'm all for Cristiano Ronaldo LastName! haha
To me it just feels like if I had a mild case of the hiccups in my belly instead of feeling it in my chest. It's not as strong as when you have it, but you'll feel this repetitive little jolt in your tummy. I felt DD have them all the time in my first pregnancy, and she even had them all the time when she was born. It's crazy.
I love Spaceballs!
aww, congrats!
My belly has been my nightly entertainment for a while now & finally captured a kick on video last night!
I just felt my LO for sure for the first time last night. It's sooo sureal. I was beginning to get worried because I had seen so many of you ladies already feeling your babies.
I think Nugget must be too busy swimming to kick. The nurse midwife said he/she was zooming around when she was looking for his heartbeat but I haven't felt more than flutters and a very rare poke.
Such a considerate child. Doesn't want to bother mommy.
Yes, this is how mine is. At our u/s last week baby was moving so much that the doctor couldn't get all of the measurements he needed, but I've only felt a few flutters and little pokes every once in a while. It's very strange!
Yes. It was always really cool to feel the first movements (and all movements, really) and then to feel them with my hands.
But seeing them was a whole new level...of creepy. I feel like there's an alien in there. It's awesome and weird at the same time.
