Babies: 9 - 12 Months

11am party indicates lunch served, right?

I've had a couple of people ask me if there will be food.  It's an 11am party, under a pavilion, at a park.  Umm, yes.

  • I'm not serving lunch at DD's...Tongue Tied  We're just having fruit, chips & salsa, and cake...I feel like there is always so much waste with lunch meat and stuff..it was hard to decide though.

  • If I was invited to an 11:00 party I would assume lunch was served.
  • I would think that there would be lunch but sometime you never know so I would eat something little just incase there was no lunch

  • Yes, it's at 11 a.m. but, I think everyone invited KNOWS that we're not doing lunch.  We're going to have food, just not LUNCH lunch.  Also the party is outside, I don't want to run the risk of having people get sick from things sitting out.  Oh well.

  • I would expect lunch at that time.
  • I would expect lunch.  And if there wasn't lunch provided and I had J with me, I'd probably be leaving pretty quickly since J + lack of food = not cute.  No one wants to see Purple Rage.

If people know that your not having lunch lunch then your fine. If I was you I would maybe do some meatballs in a slow cooker for something that is heavier to tie them over until the party is over

  • If I went to a party at 3 am I would expect food.  At 11 am, I would definitely think that lunch is served, even if it's just something light.

So, why would you choose to have a party at lunchtime, if you don't want to serve lunch? Why not an afternoon party, or morning party? It just doesn't make sense to me.

I would be annoyed if something more substantial wasn't being served at an 11 a.m. party.  I typically have breakfast at 8 and to feel like I either have to force myself to eat something at 10 or try to survive on chips and salsa until God knows when would make ME cranky let alone my child!  Plus there are plenty of food options out there that can be kept warmed via chafing dish so you can avoid the food poisoning risk.
