at her 12 mth appt (DD was 12 mths, 1 wk old), my DD was 25lbs. I took her today for a cold and at almost 14 mths (next week) she weighs 25 lbs 3oz - she only gained 3oz in almost 2 mths? Is that bad???
we finally gained weight from 12 to 15 month appointments. DD was 18 lbs 3 oz at 12 months and 20 even at 15. from 6-9-12 months she'd only gain 1 pound or 1.5 lbs each. As long as she's eating well i wouldn't worry about it.
DD only gained a little over a half a lb between her 12 month and 15 month appointments. She's since gained almost a lb and a half in a month and a half.
Thanks ladies. this makes me feel better. I was worrying for a sec there because she typically gains at least a lb a month. But then again, she has just started really walking in the last month so that's going to burn a lot of calories & all. She was a chuncky baby but my husband and i were both sticks as kids so i'd expect she'll be the same.
they really slow up around now and 25lbs is a healthy weight, so I wouldn't worry. My DD was 21 at her 1 yr and we weighed her at home last week and she was 22. We go for our official 15 mo appt and weight check and I imagine she'll be fine w/ her only gaining a pound.
Re: 12 to 15 mth weight change
The heavier and older they get, the less they gain. It's caused by a combination of things such as being more active, drinking less, etc.
9 Months- 18 lbs 6 oz
12 Months- 19 lbs 6 oz (1 lb gain)
15 Months- 20 lbs 15 oz (1 lb 9 oz gain)
18 Months- 22 lbs 5 oz (1 lb 6 oz)
Total 3 lbs 15 oz.
In his first nine months he gained 12 lb 9 oz
