annoyed

apparently since my doctor told me its ok to dye my hair in the 2nd tri and soon to be SIL's doctor said it's not that makes me a child, and apparently I need to grow up now.

COOL.

Re: annoyed

  • That's nice! Everyone I have talked to said it's fine in your 2nd trimeseter, but to make sure that you are in a well ventilated area. I think some people are a little too paranoid!

  • That's not nice...

My doctor said it was fine, but that I shouldn't because he likes my hair color. Don't worry... he was not flirting with me.

  • or a little too bossy. I'm pretty sure if I thought it'd kill my baby  I wouldn't do it. I do it with the widows open and sometimes even outside. and then wash it out right away.

not to mention its not even bleach.

  • Yea, this is one of those things they don't actually know about.  They don't know how much, if any, chemicals are absorbed through your scalp and if they are, then if it even affects baby.  I dyed my hair in first tri and second.  I also eat sushi and rare red meat when I trust the sources, so.....its your choice.

haha aw, your hair color is very nice! but my roots are out of control too light to match the darkness of the rest of my hair. guess she'll have to deal with me being a child.

  • psh.  Don't let her get to you.  If your doc says it's fine and you trust your doc, go for it.

for the record, I'd do it if I weren't so cheap.  Problem with mine is that I have dark hair that I highlight somewhat lighter - which takes a long time and I can't really successfully do it myself.

Oh, I dyed my hair at like 13w1d. It's all good. My doc is laid back and said if you follow everything you hear you will drive yourself nuts!

  • I've never been told it was an issue.  Weird that someone would react like that to something that's not really that big of deal.

if you get it highlighted professionally, it's supposedly even "safer" than regular dying because of the foil.

I'd so be dying my hair if I wasn't trying to get it back to my natural color (the top 2/3 of my hair, and is getting lighter for some reason even though my natural color is almost black)... I want to go reddish again so bad though

My mouth is watering right now.  I love sushi and rare red meat and even if I were to try DH would throw a fit.  He also makes sure to cook my steaks with NO pink in the middle and checks to make sure my meat is fully cooked if we're out a restaurant.  Yay for him being concerned for the health of our LO, boo for me not fully enjoying my food.

  • i color my hair every 6-8 weeks and have not stopped.  i just got it colored again last night (and i love it!)

i know hair dressers aren't doctors, but mine said everyone at the salon colored their hair through their pregnancies, plus they deal with the dye all day long and all of them have had healthy babies.

so go ahead and color your hair...and tell your sister to get over it!   people love to pick on other pregnant women!  i keep getting weird comments from people at work for wearing high heels. like, wtf?

  • Ugh. Don't let it get to you. I dyed my hair once already in the first tri and will need to again soon. I would wear gloves if you do it yourself, but you prob do that anyway. It will be fine :) Sorry she made you feel that way.
