I don't know if I followed the directions correctly, but I made a wishlist, added three books, and wrote a small description of what would be suitable. 

I also asked a few questions of my pick, since she didn't have a list yet.

 

Also, can someone please explain media mail to me? Or provide a link? My post office is not helpful at all. TIA!

    Just bring in your package and tell them you want to send it media mail (rather than first class, etc.)

    That's also my understanding of it also.  They should offer it to you as an option when you go to ship the books if you make sure to mention to them you're shipping books.  It works for books, magazines, etc.  Sometimes they don't want to do it if you don't tell them what's in the package.
     I found this and this by searching on the USPS website.   I've done it before but its been quite a long time.  HTH
