Its a bit too alliterative for my taste. I do like both names, but I would try to avoid two names starting with the same sound/letter. Omelie is awful.
I give up trying to get a ticker. I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome. Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself. Hmmm. How about...
"It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?" - A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
I don't think they are too similar... they have the same sound, but I think they are different enough to use. I really love Amelie, though, so maybe I am biased a little
My gut/first reaction was that they were very similar : (. But, I like both names... although, I don't know that I've seen Amelie spelled that way-- is it pronounced the same as Amalie? I LOVE Amalie.
I'm sure they're pronounced the same, but I think Amelie is the traditional french spelling.
Omelie is a terrible idea. I think Annaliese & Amelie are both really pretty names. They do sound a little similar but I think it still works. I vote go for it, but definitely without the O..

Amelie is fairly traditional in French. Emilie is also a traditional French way to spell it, usually with an "accent aigu" on the first "E." ?milie.
I like Emilie better but think either choice will likely be misspelled frequently as Emily.
Omelie is nms.

Omelie is awful - being a daughter of people who thought having two girls with A names, I really think you need to branch out. I don't know how my sister feels about it, but we basically have rhyming names - starting and ending with A. ICK.

I don't think they are too similar but when they get older and you are yelling their names it's like a tongue twister... I know I'd get confused. I am not a fan of giving kids names with the same letter for this reason. Very pretty names though.
Re: Are these names too similar?
BrittKav's DH, Omelie is a very bad idea.

I don't really think they are TOO similar. I like both names. But Omelie is AWEFUL! Take that off the list DH! lol
I LOVE both of these names and do not think that they sound too similar!
No, no, no to the "O!"
this. Omelet is all I could think of... I love Amelie but what about Emilie if he really wants a different spelling?
All of this.
