I pumped!

This might be very exciting, but I had been so nervous to pump since C was born. I was very intimidated by the pump ... and C is ALWAYS eating ... so I never really had a chance. But today he was actually napping so I deciding it was time to try it out. It definitely wasn't as bad as I thought, and I was still getting the hang of the speeds/functions (I have the medela pump-in-style). It was very interesting but nice to see how much milk I make. I wasn't very patient so I don't know if the milk would have started flowing again, but I got a little more than 2 oz. from one boob. I guess its a start!

Woo hoo! I know how you feel---I was intimidated as well. I still don't like pumping and cleaning the parts is a PITA, but you gotta do what you gotta do!

I have the Medela PIS as well, & I was really scared of pumping too. I had to do it the day I was in the hospital, & I was surprised that it wasn't bad. I've had to do a little pumping to relieve the engorgement on the mornings after Reese has been a long sleeper because she won't latch when I'm super full. I'm so glad it's not as bad as I thought it would be!

So glad you braved the pump!!! It definitely isn't that bad - intimidating, yes, bit awfully painful, no. And btw, baby C is just adorable!!! Love your siggy pic!
