went to the just between friends sale this morning - and spent 3 hours there! I got a miracle blanket, 2 receiving blankets, a boppy, a my brest friend, 2 bath towels, a changing pad cover, 2 pnp sheets, 1 sleep sack, 15 outfits, 1 jacket, and 1 snowsuit - for just under $71.
everything i got was in like-new condition, except for the miracle blanket, which was completely sealed up so I couldn't check it - but it was $2 so I figured I'd take a chance!
the "outfits" are a combination of long-sleeved onesies, sleeping gowns (? the ones open on the bottom, with elastic), footed sleep and plays (is that what they're called?), and the like.
it was hard to resist stuff, when it's so cheap! (i think?)
there was a kate spade diaper bag for $80 - a black nylon one with no outer pockets. thankfully, i ran into one of my mom friends who talked me out of it - she convinced me it wouldn't be very useable. she also talked me out of a moby for $15 (will probably get a hand-me-down), and a fleece swaddle me for $3 (she'll give me hers).
but overall, i think i'm pretty pleased...any critiques? i'll probably go to one more of these before the baby comes (but after our shower, which is good). I just spent the *entire* afternoon working on our registry instead of working (on work). oops.
Re: spent $71 at JBF this morning
Sounds like you got a great deal! I love saving as much money as I can on stuff, especially kid stuff that they outgrow so quickly. That's a lot of stuff for a great price! I would also check rummages/garage sales because stuff is even cheaper there and you can still talk pp down in the price. I LOVE sleeping gowns for boys or girls, so easy and quick to change diapers in the middle of the night when you are totally exhausted.
Our JBF sucked! Everything was very high priced. Outfits were priced high 10-15 for name brand, which really, I don't care about. It's a baby, she'll get it dirty and I can go to Target and get brand new stuff for that price. Along with high prices, the big stuff (like high chairs) were really old! I'm jealous that your JBF was better than ours!
Wow, you got some great deals girl! Sounds like you had a lot of fun too!

ack, now i'm wishing i had gotten the moby afterall! the cheapest i'm seeing on CL right now is $25. sigh. oh well. i should have checked CL while i was there, heh. after i put it back, i did have second thoughts - i went back to look for it later just to see if someone else had snatched it up, and it was gone. it's funny, b/c i wasn't even planning to get a moby to begin with, so i shouldn't be sad about it! it's hard to pass up a deal! hah.
the miracle blanket is in great shape, yay! one of the pnp sheets has 2 small, light circular stains (the larger one is maybe as big as a pencil eraser tip) - hopefully they come out, but if not, oh well.

yay for the great deals!
I have already put the tacoma one on my calendar. I need to take advantage of second hand stuff while I can - the boy selection gets smaller and smaller as they get bigger (and messier!)
