Things are looking up

Finally got some sleep last night! 2-7 then 8-11 yay! If my staying up with her till 2 each night is what it takes, I'll gladly do it!

Yesterday I went to the Breastfeeding 911 clinic at a local baby boutique and met with another LC (not the one I had seen before). It was nice to have someone to cry to and to confirm that I'm not crazy. They reassured me that since she's gaining so well I'm doing something right so now it's time to focus on me getting better.

They showed me how to adjust her latch by pulling her chin down so the nipple goes in deeper for a more efficient suck so I'm working on that. Also working on the cradle hold vs the cross cradle I've been doing. It's hard for me to get her on when I hold her like that though so we'll need more practice.

I called my OB's office to ask for another dose of Diflucan and their immediate reaction was to tell me to come in. I totally lost it on the phone and was sobbing while trying to tell them I had been in TWICE last week and the nurse was all "Don't cry!" but it did the trick because they called in the prescription for me. It shouldn't take me breaking down on the phone but whatever, I'm just glad I got the drugs. I'm also starting stronger probiotics and will keep using the all purpose nipple ointment.

Hopefully with all of these tools in place I will start feeling better.

I left her in her car seat when we got home because she was 100% out and was able to nap for 30 minutes before she woke up. (felt bad about it for a minute but then realized that those 30 minutes were going to let me be a better mommy to her and didn't feel as bad.) and then when DH got home I slept for 1 hour 45 min before waking up to nurse her.

So, overall things are looking up. I'm still in pain but coping. My dad is here for a few hours so that will be very helpful, my goal is to work on Reese's photoshoot while he's here! (fingers crossed)
