April 2011 Moms

Being a newb to 1st tri

I'm enjoying being a 1st trimester newb. No symptoms, no weight gain. No worrying too much yet about big ticket baby items or a stressful delivery.

Just all the hope in the world for 9 happy and healthy months ahead, a little bit of naivete, and a ton of giddiness and wonder about anything and everything babies (Babystory on TLC anyone? Squeeeee!) like watching the lines get darker on my internet cheapies every couple of days.

I am sure that there will be some bumps (maybe big ones) in the road, but for now, I'm reveling in my pregnant newbie-ness.

What are you enjoying about this earliest stage of pregnancy?

  • Aww, that's so cute Sarah! I'm basking in the glow of having a secret (that makes me sound evil) & I guess the mood swings haven't started yet, b/c I feel like I love MH even more Smile

  • I definitely feel a lot closer to my DH, and I'm loving that he suddenly feels the need to clean the entire house for me. hahaha.

I also love taking a peek at the photo I took of my BFP on the digital test ... makes me smile every time. I still can't believe it.

  • That I'm given each day of being pregnant.  One day=one step closer.

  • I'm sooo excited about this pregnancy I feel alot better about this baby than I did about my first I somehow knew it would end in a m/c. Now that can also be that I saw a little little something on my ultrasound yesterday and my betas are at 6565!

I feel huge already thanks to mega bloat but I love it! I have also been cramping which right now I'm just telling myself its the baby reminding me he/she is there since I haven't spotted at all :)

  • I'm watching A Baby Story right now! :P

I'm still on the huge thrill kick of actually looking at baby-stuff (I rarely ever allowed myself to before).

PS- Joanna on Cup of Jo just posted their son Toby's nursery today! https://joannagoddard.blogspot.com/

  • from the day I got my BFP Ive been so worried because of my previous MC.

But today I decided that I will enjoy every second, every minute and each passing day.

    Yes!  Thanks for that.

  • I am loving just basking in the pregnancy newbie-ness before everything kicks in. I feel great so far besides a little fatigue so it is really all still sinking in.

I love the fact that it's like DH and I have a little inside secret - but I HATE trying to hide it from everyone.

I love looking at all the baby stuff online. I wouldn't really let myself do that before.

I love getting the reassurance that this is actually happening when I do another internet cheapie test and see those lines or look at the picture I took of the digital with the big ol' 'Pregnant' on it.

Most of all I love the excited smile that my husband gets when I tell him about doctor's appts and other baby stuff.

  • You would think that being pg w/#2 I would feel like a pro...well It feels so new to me and I am sure that by DS being 5 has a lot do w/it. I find myself asking such obvious questions that you would think i was  a 1st time Mom. I think every pregnnacy is different and that i greta since u experience it in a whole new way. You don't feel leik u have been though it all.

I am enjoying being PG and being pampered by everyone around me.

  • I love keeping my pregnancy journal and comparing notes to my pregnancy with DD.

I love torturing my mother with the fact that we're not finding out the gender this time!  [This will become super annoying soon, I'm sure, but it's funny as hell right now.]

I love watching my DD and thinking about how great of a big sister she will be.

I love the sisterhood we have on the April board!  Smile

Awwww! Definitely. The good thing is that this board will NOT be going away, even after babies are born. I've seen a lot of people ask that question to Bump Eileen and Nest Anni, and they say that the birth boards will stay forever and ever lol.

  • I LOVE having this secret. I think that my favorite part right this second. I was a single mom until two years ago, so being able to share all of this with dh is amazing.
  • I love finding myself holding my tummy, or talking to the baby. Also, the moments of "Holy sh*t this is actually happening!". Seeing a little baby at a store, or on tv and just smiling because I have my own little miracle growing right now! It's all so amazing!

This is really nice, and nice that they'll be keeping it. They started these month boards in like December I think, and my Feb 2010 board was a dead zone... seriously, the last dozen posts are all just from Bump people! I'm happy this is a hoppin board!

So far, I'm LOVEing that I don't have ms yet! By this point with my previous pg I was sicker than a dog! I was even sicker than this with my m/c pg. So, I'm enjoying it while it lasts!

I'm also enjoying the funness of deciding when and how to tell people again. We've already told family, but none of our friends really know yet. I'm having lunch with a gf of mine on thursday after my second blood draw, I'm gonna let the cotton ball taped to my arm show so she'll know what's up!

  • I love...

That every so often I think "holy cr*p, I'm pregnant!" and get so excited all over again.

Knowing that our closest loved ones', including our parents, DH's grandparents, and our siblings, lives will change when they find out our big news when we decide to tell them (only my mom and bff know). They are going to be ecstatic!

Writing TO my little one in my journal (highly recommend the Belly Book sold at Barnes & Noble -- so cute and will be such a great keepsake), documenting this incredible experience.

Browsing online at baby bedding, strollers, and carseats, which like many of you I didn't let myself do before! I even browsed through the maternity section of a local department store today.

Being completely amazed by the human body...how does your body just KNOW to do this or that?  Boggles my mind and makes me so thankful to be able to have this experience.

I too am so thankful for you April 2011 ladies. What a great board! I'm so excited to hear your experiences and share my own as the time goes on. Big Smile

  • Wow... am I emotional or what? I totally almost teared up reading what some of you wrote.

Right now, I am enjoying having a secret with DH. I absolutely hate keeping this from people, but at the same time it's kind of "the calm before the storm". Our LO will be the first grandchild on both sides AND we will be the first of all of our friends to have a baby. So I have a feeling once everyone finds out, I'm going to be getting a lot of attention! I'm a pretty private person, so I know that's going to be hard for me. (Hope that didn't sound ungrateful-- I am excited to spread the news... just kinda scared for all the attention that goes along with it).

  • You guys are so cute!  Enjoy this time.  :)

I am also enjoying the secret.  We won't be telling family or OOT friends until Thanksgiving or Christmas.  We will tell in-town friends when they start to notice.  One good thing about having my #2 & #3 so close together is that I still have a bit of a belly...so it will take longer for people to notice that it is growing, and not shrinking!  ;)

My March 2010 board was the same way.  I am happy that these month boards have picked up steam.

Also, PurpleK, can I just say how happy I am to see you here on this board!  :)  I followed your journey with Kaygan on PgAL during my last pregnancy w/ June.

  • I feel the same way about worrying...I try to say that mantra, too....but I feel like I'm saying it about 1000 times a day b/c I'm just so worried...then I worry about being worried :-(
  • I keep thinking to myself Holy Sh!t I'm pregnant!  I hate having this secret though, I'm not a very good secret keeper!

  • I'm loving not being sick and totally exhausted.. yet :)

I also love that this board is busy, though I have a hard time keeping up with all of the new BFPs!
