Anyone getting a gift FOR your hubby?

My hubs has been amazing during this pregnancy, so I wanted to get him something special to thank him and commemorate the birth of our son. I found gorgeous Tiffany cuff links (he wears a suit every day...all the more reason to spoil him!) and had them engraved with his initials, which are the same as LO's. I thought they'd be nice to pass down to our son one day, too. They just arrived and I can't wait to give them to my hubby...but not until baby is here! :-)
Anyone else getting their DH something special? And I mean other than the baby, of course!

You sound like us!!! EDD and DH's bday are October 6th. Our 5 year wedding anniversary is October 9th and my bday is October 21st...weeeeeird!
And I have not thought about gift ideas yet, but Girlintheworld, I think that sounds like a perfect gift!

He has had his eye on some "super special" fishing rod and reel for months now but it is way pricey and he kept saying "we should just spend the money on Kate - I don't really need it."
So, I got it for him. It is currently at my ILs house and they will bring it out when they com for the baby's birth!

good luck on all of that! thankfully my bday is this month so thats a little bit of space. october will definitely be a busy month for us though. this will be our second wedding anniversary but he was in iraq for our first so it will be a special one for us.

My DH loves scotch too, how are you going about getting it engraved? This is a great idea
I'm ordering it right from their website, they have a store locator where you can get it done, but there was nothing close enough to me.
Well, were not married yet and ever since we got an engaged we talked about getting him a ring to wear since we have a long engagement set, but we still to this day have yet to get him a ring. So, I'm going to get him a ring and have it engraved to say something from both our daughter and I.
I will give it to him right after LO is born.

Since he deploying for Afganstan shortly after LO's birth.. I'm buying printer fabric and while we are in the hospital I'm going to have my mom take the picture of DH holding his son for the first time, and print two pictures off on this fabric and make two pillows one for LO and one for DH to take with him when he deploys
that's really nice. honestly I hadnt thought about it. I like that you thought ahead to pass them down to LO. Very sweet & thoughtful...not surprising coming from you!
Yep, that's what they're for, but I love buying gifts for others and especially for my husband. I think an unexpected gift can really mean a lot to someone.
this exactly! We aren't supposed to want what some people call push gifts because our gift is the baby, but the father gets these really expensive meaningful gifts??? He'll get the same thing I'm getting.
My gift to my husband is never ever ever referring to him as 'hubby.'
In addition, I'm planning to buy him some camera equipment, as he's a hobbyist photographer.

I didn't know it was out yet and I know he's super excited. We've had a rough couple of weeks, plus imminently having a baby so...I figured something nice would cheer him up.

With DS, I surprised him with an new Ipod engraved from DS. He deserved it after taking care of me for 13 weeks while on bedrest. This time around I'm getting him new golf clubs not only for the birth which will be 10/7 but for his birthday which is 10/10.
I found this website called daddy scrubs. For fathers day I got him a t-shirt that says "I'm the daddy" (he took pictures in it with our son) and some other things. He would like the full scrub outfit for his lil girls debut.
