Pregnant after a Loss

What do you take for gas?

I have this horrible gas pain in my side and no matter how much I burp, it doesn't go away.

What's your surefire way to get rid of it?  Thanks!

Re: What do you take for gas?

  • Sorry... I never take anything for gas. I just let it go through the cycle even though my tummy really hurts. Sometimes I take Tums when I also have heartburn, etc. but I don't think it's really for gas.

  • Gas-X is amazing stuff. :)
  • a nap? lol. I know it's not funny; last night's stuck gas pain hurt so much I wanted to cry. I walked around the bedroom some, did some squats, tried leaning over the footboard. Nothing worked. For me, I know that nothing I could take OTC (or otherwise) will work, time only allows it to pass. I tried different positions in bed until I found one I had the least pain in. I tried to stay as still as possible so I could fall asleep. I just held the belly a little above baby where the pain was worst and laid on my side. That seemed to be ok and I was able to sleep. Sorry I can't be of more help. Hope it gets better soon.

  • I use Gas X or Tums depending on the severity.  But I've also found that sleeping helps too.

  • I like the Rolaids plus gas relief soft chews. They work great!
