i give about 3+tbsp in the morning and lately, just fruit and veggies for lunch and dinner. should i be giving cereal at dinner, too? and also why is it ok to give yogurt but not cows milk? DD is 7 1/2 mos...what kind of snacks should i give? tia
I giver her Oatmeal 3x a day (at every meal.) I would do cereal at each meal, plus a fruit or veggie.
If you've been given the go-ahead to do yogurt it's b/c a little milk (in a product like yogurt or cheese) is fine. It just can't be their primary source of nutrition & take the place of BM or formula.
Snacks - I don't give DD snacks other than what she eats at her meals, so as far as fingers foods I feed her peas, green beans & pasta (all cooked well so they are soft), toast and sometimes I put some cheese on top, and shredded cheese.
If I give him cereal, then it's usually a little before his bedtime routine begins. It helps him sleep all night. I don't know anything about the yogurt. I think DS is still too young for it. Don't you have to be 9 months for yogurt? I'm not sure. For a snack around 3pm, DS will eat Puffs, MumMums, or toast and some diluted juice.
I only give cereal 2x a day and only 1-2 Tbsp so I am no help. She's only been eating solids for a few weeks. But here is a good article about why yogurt is okay: https://wholesomebabyfood.com/tipYogurt.htm
