Infertility

Stressed...need to whine

Last night my mom called very late to tel me my dad is in the hospital for some sort of cardiac event...so far the tests all look good but I'm still so worried. I need my daddy and Lord knows my mother can't survive without him.

Then this morning my aide (I'm a special Ed teacher) calls to tell me she has breast cancer and she is starting treatments right away.

Then the IVF nurse calls.... We are having a 4dt and we are down to 13 embies. I'm a nervous wreck! Last time they called me in for a 4dt bc my embies started looking funny....now this makes me scared and angry. Could they be stimming me too long? Are they looking at quantity over quality? Ivf 2 and 3 i had 32 and27 eggs and ended up w funny looking embryos. Ivf 1 which was converted from IUI, only had 15 eggs but I ended up with 6 perfect expanded blasts! I feel like this is a disaster and I might as well not even go through it. Ugh! And then im kicking myself because we switched back to an antagonist protocol bc we thought the lupron had something to do with the quality difference and then i went and used a lupron trigger! Ugh! My OHSS is so much better for it, but now i cant help but wonder if that has something to do with it...
Tomorrows my 4th wedding anniversary and our 4th transfer...I'm just hoping that is a good sign.

My OHSS is not terrible but my ovaries do hurt still, Im nauseous, my appetite is all out of whack, I'm terriby dizzy....:sigh: at least I don't feel like my skins going to rip open at any moment like it did last time I had OHSS

I'm also paying the bills and let's say as a teacher in the summer that can be highly stressful!!

Mom just called and her car got keyed from head to toe in the hospital parking lot. What is wrong with people??

I really needed to get all that out so thank you and if you got this far, thanks for your patience! These hormones have got me all screwy...just want to cry.

  • cutie, i'm sending you tons and tons of prayers and ((HUGS))

lots of stress cutie.  praying for your dad and mom and aide and for you and embies.

i'm not sure what to say about your clinic and quantity over quality.  both of the clinics i'm at strive for 15 good eggs, they don't want huge numbers of eggs.

i hope your embies are perfect and sticky tomorrow for transfer.

  • (((hugs)))

You are under a lot of stress and I am sorry it has been so tough.

Try to not beat yourself up over your IVF cycle.  You are still not out of it yet and there is still a lot of hope for success.  Even if your embryos aren't the highest quality, their is still hope.  There are ladies that have gotten pregnant on SAIF with poor quality embryos.  Try to keep hope alive.

  • I hope your dad gets some good news from the testing and feels better soon.  I hope the treatments work for your aide.

I'm sorry you're feeling so overwhelmed.  I hope your embryos look great for your transfer.  I know it is awful to obsess and worry and not be able to do anything about it.

Happy anniversary and best of luck tomorrow.  I really hope things start to look brighter really soon!

  • Sending tons of T&Ps to your father hon. It's a good sign that all the tests have been normal.

And (((((hugehugs))))) to you. I know it's hard to stay positive during an IVF cycle, but unless the doctors have told you that they are worried about your embies, try not to worry. Good luck with your ET!

I hope your dad turns out to be OK, I'm so sorry about your aid, and I agree about your mom's car - what is wrong w/ people?!

About your embies - 13 embies is awesome - I'm sure they'll have a lot to choose from!  Did your RE say they were calling you in for a 4dt b/c they were worried about them?  If not, try not to worry yourself (easier said than done, I know).  If you're wondering if your clinic is sacrificing quality over quantity you could get a second opinion, but let's hope you don't even need it.  Fingers crossed that is one works for you!!
