GRRRR re: my flight question from yesterday

I realized I read my dad's email wrong the reason the option #1 and #2 were so long was b/c they are not direct flights. Delta has dropped all their direct flights to Vancouver from Atlanta. :(

We were always leaving to go up there on saturday (cruise isn't until tuesday) so now I think we are going to fly directly to Seattle. We can leave here at like 930am which is good. Then we'd spend one maybe 2 nights there then drive to Vancouver. It's like a 2 1/2 hour drive which in my mind would be better then spending 7-10 hours and switching planes with 2 little ones to get to vancouver. Did I mention this is already giving me anxiety to fly all that way with 2 little ones!

  • This was actually going to be my suggestion anyway.  I would avoid 7 hours  on a plane with 2 little ones at all costs.  Especially with the times you had to chose from.  That first option of leaving at 7:30 sounded like my idea of hell.  My kids would be puddles on the ground if I tried to get them up and out of the house by 4:30, 5:00 in the morning.

  • You know what, I think this may be the best solution after all.  You won't feel so rushed and chaotic.  You can kind of break it up a bit.  It will all be worth it!

  • I think that sounds like a good option.  Try not to stress too much about it... you'll be a pro at being a Mommy of 2 by then!  :)

  • Sounds like everything worked out. I like this flight option. After our 12 hour car ride a few weeks ago, being around tons of strangers and on a plane for a long period of time would be my ultimate nightmare. I'm jealous, that sounds like so much fun!

  • We made that exact drive for our wedding on Vancouver Island. We flew to Seattle, rented a car (that could be taken into Canada, not all of them allow that) and drove up. It was a great little drive, quick, and it makes for a scenic entrance into Vancouver.

Super jealous, I would love to go back :) Vancouver and Vancouver Island were knock-your-socks-off fantastic.
